Choosing a greenhouse
A greenhouse adds another dimension to your garden. Suddenly you can increase your plant repertoire dramatically and open up possibilities at both ends of the season.
While perhaps not an absolutely essential piece of kit, a greenhouse is extremely desirable addition, and these days they come in all shapes and sizes.
Starting with the smallest first, the mini-greenhouse is a boon for anyone with restricted space or a small budget.
For between £20 to £40 it is possible to purchase a 3 or 4 tier mini greenhouse with a plastic cover that can be put together in ten minutes.
They are often referred to as patio greenhouses and the larger ones can accommodate up to 16 full sized seed trays. They have become very popular and most garden outlets now stock a range, which you can carry home in the back of your car.
Of course to the purist these are not greenhouses as we know them, but a useful addition, they most certainly are. The tubes that make the frame simply slot together, while the cover is all in one with a zip opening. Normally this type of greenhouse is not for standing up in, although larger sized models are available.
