How to get a mesh canopy to work with vaulted ceilings?
I currently have a mesh mosquito canopy hanging from the ceiling above my bed and it's beautiful. However, our new home being built has a vaulted ceiling in the bedroom. Because the canopy hangs from the ceiling, I'm not sure how to make it work without appearing crooked. Does anyone have any ideas? Ever experience this yourselves? Any ideas would be great, thanks!
Yes I have. At one home, I did the bedroom for their daughters with this same problem. What I did was suspend 4 chains from the ceiling and attached at frame I made to it and attached the canopy to the frame.
If you don't wantc hains, you can use a heavy duty fishing line, so you won'y see it.
What in the world is the water canopy theory all about?
Are we just making up excuses for the great flood to be probable? if i am geting this idea right, there was supposedly a large membrain above our atmosphere that inturn had water on top of it? Then it supposedly broke and flooded the entire planet? How can anybody accept this theory and then point the finger at some poor scientist who has arceological evidence for his claims. Further more if all this water landed on our planet around 6000 years ago, where did it all go? Water does not evaporate away from the earths gravity that easily. How do you explain the reality where that kind of shield in our atmosphere would make this planet so fridgid that even if god created adam and eve they would have frozen to death before they got the opportunity to procreate. im sorry, i am usually tolerant of other theories but this one seems so outright retarted i cant help but ask how in the hell do you convince yourself of this?
I think what you are referring to is the 'Hydrogen Canopy'. I don't know if it is really true but this is how it was supposed to be. I saw a video of someone explaining this.
In their search for answers they hit upon the idea that the earth before the Flood was covered with metallic hydrogen at the height of 11 miles. When hydrogen freezes at that height it becomes transparent and acts like a fiberoptic. So you get not only the sunlight but its reflection on the other side of the globe so there was no night like we have today. It also kept the atmospheric pressure to double of what it is today. There was greater amount of carbondioxide in the atmosphere. I forgot the actual constituents of atmospheric air.
The humans and the trees were huge under those conditions. In fact, they did an experiment where they produced these conditions and planted a tomato plant which grew to 10-12 times its normal height. If you take the ages of Adam and his children they lived close to 1000 years which would be 10-12 times the normal longevity of 70-80 years today. There were many other effects of this shield which I don't remember now.
At the time of the Flood as the Bible says "the fountains of the deep broke up" and water is supposed to have shot up 20 miles high collapsing the shield which was composed of just hydrogen, a constituent of water. It also buried huge forests and brought changes to the earth's surface. The temperature of the earth was uniform throughout the earth as a result of the shield and there was no rain probably because the atmospheric pressure was too much for clouds to rise(?) That's is why people at the time of the Flood laughed at the idea of water falling from the sky. Now, because of temperature differences a large quantity of water is stored at the poles in the form of icebergs and the environmentalists are concerned that if these icebergs melt they will submerge some of the islands and some low lying areas. Well, this is all I can tell you at the moment from what I know.

A bed canopy for you and your sister would look really nice. You could choose matching but contrasting fabrics for each bed.

Parents that have wagons for their kids..Which one do you prefer yourself or pick one of my two?

We are a softball family so we spend a lot of time outside and I know the canopy would be better for the shade. Although most of the fields you aren't sitting in the direct sun. The bleachers are covered so I would hate to spend so much money on that wagon when the step 2 would be fine. I love how the first wagon has the bag attached to it. Whats your view point on the two? Or do you have a favorite that you use?
I've tried out both and I found the Radio Flyer with Canopy worked best for me. Sure it was more expensive, but I found it was larger and suited my lifestyle more. I'm an outdoor gal and get a lot of use out of my wagon. I liked the canopy because of the heat/rain. It had a storage area in the back so I could tuck stuff under/behind the rear seat. I never used the bag that came with it (I found it flimsy) but it held my small cooler bag perfectly. The seats were comfortable for my kids and the foot well had plenty of room for their little feet. If I was just taking one of my kids out that day I could fold down the one seat and make a table/chair set out of it. That way the child I had with me could color/draw while on the trip. The handle has a locking position when pushed up so you don't need to worry about tripping over it or having it get scratched on the ground. Both seats fold down to make a flat bed. We sometimes brought a pillow to my sons soccer games so my daughter could have a nap if she pleased. The cup holders at the front of the wagon were perfect for mine and my husbands coffee when we went for our evening walks. They hold my kids sippy cups and my bottle of water that I usually tote with us. I have used and abused it all summer and it still looks brand new. It also has drain holes in the floor so it can't get filled up with water if that makes a difference. As a side note, it fits into all the store entry ways I have been in . . including the older stores which I found sometimes make getting in with my stroller a little tight.
The only downside I have found thus far is its size. It's bigger/heavier than your traditional wagon. So if you don't get your use out of it I recommend going with the smaller Step 2. While I found them nice (it was my second choice as well) it just didn't suit my needs as an outdoor mommy. I'm a small gal (short/tiny) and I pull the thing up hill twice a day without any issues just to give you an idea about the heavy I was referring to. Hope this helps you with your decision. I think the biggest kicker for me was the price and the size. My advice to you is to bring your kids and see how they fit in it. Usually they have some set up at toys r us so you can test them out. =)
Edward Cullen Lovers ONLY: What do you think of my fanfiction?
You walk into a warm candle-lit spacious bedroom that smells lightly of rose perfume. There is a luxurious canopy bed with gold bedframes, draped in deep red silk drapes. The floor is made from a marble that looks like rose quartz and the furniture here is antique wood.
You gaze out the wide window with delicate gold frames, to match the bed perfectly. The full moon shines down on a deep, sapphire-blue lagoon. It feels like you could look down there forever and you would never see the bottom. The deep red curtains flutter, lightly grazing your chest and right cheek. You feel the cold air blow lightly against your neck and your arms,...is it cold in here? You decide to lie on the warm silk draped bed, to keep yourself from the cold...
The curtains swish forward and back, but you see no one there. A familiar voice playfully whispers in your ear, "Why hello there..." You can't believe that it could be true and yet you turn around. It is Edward, here by your side. He has eyes for no one else but you tonight...you are his world. You coyly smile, not wanting to give too much away for the first time. You tease him lightly, playing hard to get, his cool skin feeling delightful on yours. You ruffle his soft hair: it feels like soft feathers of an angel.
Then he grabs both your arms while he is still behind and throws you to the bed. "I have never wanted you more than I do now!", he screams. He has a lusty look on his face, his yellow eyes look feral. You brace yourself for what is coming and-
-he pounces on you like a wildcat and sinks his teeth into your left bosom. You let out a wretching scream as the pain engulfs your body. You feel short of breath, but it doesn't matter now, because all you can feel is the searing pain in your heart - you can literally hear your own heartbeat and it is as loud as 5 bass drums. He shakes his head a little and moves his head up and down as if nodding, enjoying the sensation and leeching more blood. You howl in pain as he rips apart your skin like tissue paper with his "diamond hard fangs". Bits of your flesh is flying everywhere!!! You can feel the pain everywhere in your body now and he sucks even more life from your clogged arteries.
A few seconds later, you can no longer feel the pain and you nudge your head to look at your body. Your body looks swollen and it is as pale as dough. You try to move your legs, but they don't respond. You are literally the human equivalent of a dried up paint tube and now you can't move your legs or arms or torso. You try to let out a scream, but your brain is blacking out from the loss of blood. Edward retracts his fangs and looks into your eyes, a savage gleam in his eye and your fatty blood covering his mouth. You let out a pleading look into his eyes, 'Why Edward, why?'
He laughs as he watches you slowly die and the last words you hear are, "Mmm, that was some good Burger King right there!" The last thing you see before you die is Edward Cullen taking a piss in your mouth and then ripping your leg off and playing with it like a toy airplane. He even makes the airplane noise as he bobs your severed stump of a leg up and down, weaving and bobbing with the "bbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbuuuuu" noise. Man, that was a long, badly written and melodramatic life and death.
However, you wake up and see a light. You walk towards the serene humming of angels as you enter the afterlife. It is as glorious as the second coming to you:

"Fan" Comment: OH MY GOD I got the jibblys when I had to write about that "Edward Cullen touching you" crap. I need a juice box and an "Its gonna be ok" now. :'( And yes, I do realize the rest of the stuff I wrote about the flesh and whatnot.
I also couldn't get S.Meyers' terrible writing spot on either, but managed to put a few here and there. (She constantly writes about every little thing her characters are feeling and thinking in their vapid little heads and I kept describing the scenery, lol.)
In case you don't know what the cookie is, it's a SFW g0@tse, so I don't blind you antis. :)
dammit, why are the fans not here? D:
A few grammatical errors throughout. Also, second person really isn't a great tense to write a story in. Especially if it's holding such a mocking tone.
I have to admit. I almost left the page about two paragraphs in, only to laugh out loud when he tears the self insertion apart.

Boat & Sportshow offers a temporary suspension of winter
Think warm. Really, really warm.

Add some sun, maybe a swimsuit and a fishing pole to this thought of yours. Then try picturing yourself at the lake on a balmy summer day.

That’s all thousands of people had to do Saturday as they escaped winter’s tedious hold on the area and walked the showroom at Bartle Hall for this year’s Kansas City Boat & Sportshow, which ends today. Old and young — many still bundled in coats, hats and scarves — kicked back on pricey boats, tried out spiffy rod and reels and listened to vendors tell them how to go about catching coolers of fish.

Moms and dads wondered aloud if they could ever afford the $15,000 for a small boat or the $30,000 or more for an RV nicer than some apartments. And kids, they had it made.

Clad in snow boots, 4-year-old Charlie Reber of Leawood waved a fishing pole over a small makeshift pond. He already was wearing a pirate’s eye patch from a booth a couple of aisles down, and now he was trying his darnedest to catch a fish with his dad, Doug, kneeling beside him.

“Dad, did you know a fish just swam by my hook thing?” Charlie said, looking over at Doug Reber.

When the fish just kept swimming by, Charlie declared he was done and gave the pole back to Dad, who was happy to go on to the next thing and stay inside thinking about spring.

“It kind of gets you excited about the weather warming up and getting out and having some fun,” Doug Reber said.

Exactly, said show manager Mark Adams. That’s why he and other organizers feel they got lucky with this year’s weather.

“The only way to put ointment on that cabin fever is to come on down to the boat show and see what you love about the outdoors,” Adams said in his best promotional voice.

And don’t forget the booth of Merino wool socks.

Vendor Arthur Lund, of Chattanooga, Tenn., sold pack after pack of them Saturday. He said he always does.

“I always run out, to tell you the truth,” said Lund, the self-described Leather Guy whose main fare at shows like these is leather belts and wallets and purses. Another thing show goers couldn’t get enough of was hopping from boat to boat dreaming of warmer weather.

“Aloha,” Rocco Foust, 8, of Overland Park, said into his dad’s small Canon camera, which also shoots video.

Rocco looked down at his dad, Vincent, from a blue and white Sea Ray that would cost a mere $45,000.

“Say where you’re at,” Vincent encouraged his son to tell the camera.

“I am in Hawaii,” Rocco said proudly, not playing along with Dad.

“Are you at the boat show?” Vincent asked.

After agreeing that he was indeed at Kansas City’s boat show, Rocco said “bye for the camera.”

Then he was off to another Sea Ray, this one with a canopy.
