Is there a safe way to have a bonfire underneath an aluminum patio covering? ?
I have this mobile fire pit thing we've used for bonfires in the backyard. But recently we built an aluminum patio covering with ceiling fans. Is it safe to have a bonfire in the fire pit beneath it? Or is there a way to make it safe? Or is it just totally unsafe? Thanks!

What can I do with an ugly aluminum patio cover?
It looks like Grandma's house in our back yard. We can't remove it and we need the shade. It is currently white. Any ideas...paint, covering it, etc.? HELP!
Hmmm...could you modify it? Say, cut some sections out, put on a wood facing? That could make it look like a pergola. Then add some flowering vines and that would be pretty stylish too. Could be a lot of work and may not work with the cover that is up now.

Aluminum or wood for patio cover for back yard?
I am going to get quotes for a new patio cover. I have wood now that is very old and weathered but I have noticed that they are pushing the aluminum ones instead on the internet. Anyone have any thoughts on the differences. I am sure cost will be a big factor.

But some of us like to use really good brushes and rollers, and with the steep cost, we should know how to properly care for them so they will last a long time. Here are some of our favorite tips:
First of all, it's been the rule of thumb for years that you should use synthetic-bristle brushes with latex paint and natural-bristle brushes with oil-based paint. It's still a great idea, although there are a lot more choices today.
Before you start using your brush, it's a good idea to comb the bristles to get rid of any that are loose. You don't want these in your paint project!
If you are using a water-based paint, wet the brush with a little warm water before dipping it into the paint. This will prevent the bristles from caking up for as long as you work. Use paint thinner to premoisten a brush for use with oil-based paint.
